About Us

In June 2020, a bold idea sparked in a bedroom from an earring kit from Spotlight. At just 16 years old, Ashlyn Bains set out to redefine the jewellery game—creating affordable, high-quality pieces. Diy Drip was born, not just as a brand, but as a movement to make trendy, expressive jewellery accessible to everyone.

By the end of 2023, Diy Drip was thriving, with pop-up stores in Perth and pieces flying off the shelves. What started as a small venture quickly grew into a brand that reached limits it didn't know it could. We’re constantly evolving—expanding our collections, and listening to what our customers love most.

At Diy Drip, we believe in more than just jewellery. We’re here to help you, whether you’re shopping online or visiting us in-store, our mission is simple: to make jewellery that fits your style, budget, and life. Thank you for being part of the journey—this is just the beginning.

FAQ

Are the items tarnish resistant?

Stainless Steel: While gold plating does offer some resistance to tarnishing, it's important to note that it will naturally fade over time. Unlike some other gold-plated items though, ours won't go black or green, no matter how much water they encounter. On the other hand, items made solely from stainless steel (silver) are tarnish-resistant.

Sterling Silver: Our 925 sterling silver pieces are more delicate and may tarnish over time, especially when exposed to water, sweat, or air for extended periods. The gold-plated sterling silver styles (0.05 micron electroplating) are not waterproof and will fade faster if worn in water frequently. We recommend removing your sterling silver pieces before swimming or showering and polishing them occasionally with a soft cloth to maintain their shine.

Care instructions

To extend the life of your gold-plated pieces, avoid wearing them in the shower, bed, or during heavy activity. Keep them away from perfume, sweat, and other chemicals, as these can accelerate fading. Our 925 sterling silver styles (especially those without gold plating) may oxidise over time with exposure to moisture or air, and may require occasional polishing with a soft cloth. Items made solely from stainless steel (silver tone) are tarnish-resistant and more durable for everyday wear.

Why are they so cheap?

Here's the inside scoop: our pieces come at such sweet prices because stainless steel is super affordable. Now, when it comes to gold plating, we've got just enough to keep your pieces shining bright, without breaking the bank.

Let's talk industry vibes – we're all about keeping it real with you. See, in the world of jewellery, markups can be off the charts. But not with us. We're flipping the script and putting the focus where it belongs – on you, our amazing community. Because let's be real, jewelry is more of a want than a need. And why give out crazy cash for something that shouldn't cost an arm and a leg?
